Although Orly has gradually surrendered its status as the city's leading international airport to the ever expanding Charles de Gaulle it is still a busy place.In addition to handling the bulk of French domestic flights and much charter traffic it is still used by more than 30 airlines with medium and long haul schedules.Located south of the city, it has good public transport links but getting there by car involves sampling the joys of the notorious Paris "peripherique" - always a test of nerve. Drivers would be advised to avoid peak time journeys if possible.
